Overview
Artificial Intelligence and Automation Practitioners enhance productivity, streamline processes, and support continuous improvement through the safe and responsible use of automation, integration, and AI tools. They understand, select, and implement digital solutions to address inefficiencies in existing systems. They support improvement wherever digital workflows exist and are typically embedded in operational teams, working in digital support roles, or in change delivery functions. They play a key role in unlocking time and cost savings supporting organisations to realise the potential for AI, automation and digital solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy or productivity.

Mandated Method: Project
- This assessment requires the apprentice to complete a real project based on an AI or automation solution in their workplace
- The project brief sets out the parameters of the assessment, including what is assessed, what must be submitted, and the timescales involved
- Apprentices also complete a project workbook alongside their project – this supports them to break the work into stages, from design through to implementation, and to collate evidence of their project activity throughout
Secondary Method 1: Presentation
- This assessment asks the apprentice to deliver a presentation based on an AI or automation solution they have implemented, which may be the same as their project
- There is no question and answer section, but the assessment brief provides clear guidance on what content must be included
Secondary Method 2: Professional Discussion
- This assessment is based on discussing an AI or automation solution implemented in their workplace, which can also be the project
- The assessment brief provides structured discussion areas to support preparation
