Assessment
The new assessment plans have one mandated and one secondary assessment method.
Mandated Method: Simulated Task
The Simulated Task allows apprentices to demonstrate their practical data skills by completing a realistic workplace task. They’ll be expected to source, organise, analyse and present data using appropriate tools, demonstrating accuracy and explaining their approach and findings.
Secondary Method: Portfolio
The Portfolio of Evidence demonstrates how apprentices apply their data skills in a real working environment. It brings together workplace evidence showing their ability to source, manage, analyse and communicate data effectively, while working with stakeholders and following relevant procedures.

The End-Point Assessment has two assessment methods:
Method One: Scenario Demonstration with Questioning
The Scenario Demonstration with Questioning allows apprentices to demonstrate how they apply their data skills to realistic workplace scenarios. They’ll be expected to analyse and interpret data, use appropriate tools and techniques, and explain the decisions they make, responding to questions from the assessor.
Method Two: Professional Discussion Underpinned by a Portfolio of Evidence
The Professional Discussion, underpinned by a Portfolio of Evidence, explores how apprentices source, manage, analyse and communicate data in their role. They’ll use workplace examples from their portfolio to explain how they work with data, collaborate with stakeholders and apply relevant legislation and organisational procedures.
